At ProBall USA, we have four articles (actually, maybe we should say op-eds) up on Morrow's decision to quit the rotation:

The Good News

Brandon's Comfort Zone

Makeup Issues

Tools Scouting & Sabermetrics

Personally, I'm thoroughly disgusted, but Morrow-Fields could be fun to watch, and pretty quick.

Some Seattle amigos have written, wondering if there's an easy way to index our sports shtick around the dozen-odd sites we're at now.  How 'bout this?  If there's anything up at a site other than SSI or ProBall USA, we'll link ya here.  How's that fer square :- )

Team Japan Repeats (at BSI)

DiceK Shows the Miles (at BSI)

We had been opining that Stephen Strasburg could ask $15-18M, and also we'd been opining that he deserves it.

Scott Boras has a different opinion:  Stephen Strasburg could ask $50M, and Scott opines that he deserves it.

::: taps chin :::

I'd give it to him.   What did Sabathia cost?

DiceK was $100M for 6 years.  Even if Strasburg isn't quite as good as DiceK, you're saving 50%.  LOL.

You could decline, out of anger (oops, out of "principle," we mean).  The party you'd be hurting would be yourself, because you'd be losing out on a Cy Young pitcher at pennies on the dollar.

Post up at SF Sports Insider.  Might be surprised, the similarities.

At BSI, we have two articles up on DiceK:

2007 vs 2008

How do you walk 5 guys a game and go 18-3

Matsuzaka is suuuuuuch a fascinating pitcher.  Amigos marvelled at how you go 5BB's and go 18-3.  Everybody else who walks 5 men loses, right?

Everybody else who walks 5 men has lousy control.  DiceK has outstanding control, but chose to walk guys — until he couldn't afford to.  Other 5BB pitchers don't suddenly decide to stop walking people at will.  That's the part that makes DiceK an exception to the rule.

Why would you choose to walk guys?  Because the left-field fence casts a shadow on the shortstop.

DiceK won't go 18-3, 2.80 again, but if you think he ain't good, think again.  :- )
